Mission, Goals and Services
The mission of the Mississippi State Board of Architecture is to serve the State of Mississippi by protecting and preserving the life, health and property of the Mississippians and others who live, work, and play in the built environment through the regulation of the professions of architecture, landscape architecture and certified interior design.
The Board's core values are to be service-oriented, professional, innovative, principled, responsible and collaborative.
The Board accomplishes its goals and legislative mandates through the licensure and certification of architects, landscape architects and certified interior designers. Each profession has established minimum education, experience and examination requirements for registration, which the Board verifies during the application process. Consumers are encouraged to verify registration prior to engaging a design professional.
Additionally, the Board regulates these professions by receiving and adjudicating complaints.
