Notice to Architect Applicants: If you are offering or proposing architectural services prior to licensure, please review the requirements for solicitation prior to licensure in Rule 2.7. Individuals meeting the conditions of Rule 2.7 are prohibited from rendering additional architectural services beyond the offer or proposal until the individual has an active license.

Landscape Architect Continuing Education Requirement

Landscape architects must acquire 24 hours of continuing education units (CEUs) every two years as a condition for renewal (though licensees are exempted for their first renewal). No less than 16 CEUs must be in structured course work, which may include online courses. There is no limit on the number of hours that may be completed through structured distance learning methods. A maximum of 8 CEUs may be obtained through self-directed activities, such as reading books or articles. The Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System may be utilized to locate courses.

All topics must be health, safety and welfare related.

Licensees must certify completion of the CE requirement during the renewal process.

Licensees may be randomly selected for a CE audit.  If selected for a CE audit, the licensee must then (and only then) provide documentation as described in the rules.

See Chapter 4 of the Rules and Regulations for the details regarding mandatory continuing education.
