Notice to Architect Applicants: If you are offering or proposing architectural services prior to licensure, please review the requirements for solicitation prior to licensure in Rule 2.7. Individuals meeting the conditions of Rule 2.7 are prohibited from rendering additional architectural services beyond the offer or proposal until the individual has an active license.

Architect Renewal & Reinstatement

Renewal

Renewals open on October 1 of odd-numbered calendar years, and are due by November 30. In order to renew, architects must certify that they have or will have acquired 24 continuing education hours (CEHs) total, having earned 12 HSW CEHs in each calendar year. Reinstatement

In order to reinstate a license that has been inactive for more than two years, 24 hours of HSW CEHs must be obtained in the 24 months or the 2 calendar years preceding the date of the reinstatement application. The Board also requires copies of NCARB annual renewals for each year the license was inactive, or, for those who are not NCARB certified or cannot provide NCARB annual updates, a synopsis of work/employment history.
